Joy Ride On the Way

Something very interesting happened today. Hubby went off work early to pick me up at work. Well, it is not the last time hubby will pick me up from work but I am pretty sure that the time is very near that I will be going back and forth to my work and to other places by myself. After few days of searching, we finally found a car that is suited for me. I don't want a not so big car so it will be easy for me to see the road front and back. Thanks to my new schedule at work, I am now very determined to hit the road by myself. Well, part of my promotion at work is working mid-shift so it will be difficult for hubby to come and pick me up from house to work and vice-versa especially if I need to work starting 10:00AM or 12:00PM. Well, he can go out from work anytime but he just doesn't want to abuse that privilege. So, by next week or in two weeks, I will probably be driving already by myself. I am excited already!!!

Summer Delight

June has officially kicks in. Weather-wise, we will be in the mid-90'sF to 100F for our highest temperature and mid-70's to 80 for our lowest temperature. It is summer ended! Memorial day is already over and school year will soon end here in most district in North Texas.
Another special event that most of us has been waiting for is the Father's Day. Moreover, I am sure that are a lot of us who are already very excited for their beach get-away or any vacation get-away. If you are near the lake, I am sure it is very tempting to jump in the water and practice the strokes that yor've always wanted to perform.
Well, summer is really one of the most awaited part of almost all people because of the numerous activities that everyone is capable of doing in this time of the year. So, how about you? Any plan so far this summer?

Today's Rewind

I was surprised when I woke up in the morning and hubby isn't dressed yet for work. Since I was so sleepy, I forgot to ask him. He sent the little boy to school and when he was back I asked him why he isn't ready yet for work. I knew then that he is on vacation today. Whew! It was great after all we have the same off together after so many weeks of different off. However, it is only a day vacation, tomorrow he will go back to work already. Since I was really tired, I already woke up around 10:00AM. I sit down in front of my laptop and do blogging together with my husband. Hubby asked me where I want to go but since I can't decide where to go we just opted to spend some more time in front of our computers. At 1:30PM, we left the house off to the hotel since I had a meeting at 2PM today. Hubby waited in the hotel's lobby for 2 hours while I was in the meeting. After the meeting we head off to eat and pick up the little guy in school; went swimming for two hours and back in our computers again. Time really fly so fast. Now, it is already 10:42PM.

Give Me More

Even if I was tired and very sleepy when I arrived from work, I forced myself to sit in front of the computer because when I checked the triple P's website there are bunch of opportunities in green and white. Bloggers who are into triple P's business knows what it means. Well, in short those green and white opps means money. At the end of the month, it will become money for either shopping, eating, sharing the blessings with family and savings.
Just like any bloggers here, I am hopping that the triple P's will pour more and more blessings so that everyone will be happy. After all, it isn't easy to sit in front of the computer waiting to catch fish. Right, ladies and gentlemen? wink...hehehe...
This week especially yesterday, the triple P's has been very generous. However, I was unfortunate because I wasn't able to catch any of the big paying opps yesterday. Anyway, I am a bit happy for I am able to grab some today when I arrived from work. I hope I will be able to grab some tomorrow. Wish me luck! I mean, wish us the very best of lucks!!!

My First Actual Road Driving

I finally hit the road last Sunday. I was off on that day and we went out to the Grapevine Lake to have a little picnic. On our way home, I asked my husband if I can drive. He was a little bit hesitant at first but I was very persistent so he eventually allowed me to drive.
The road going out and in the lake is only a one-way road. It is pretty easy to drive except for some slight curves and the set-up of the road. The road is actually elevated by approximately 50 feet above the lake and the golf course on the other side. The elevation is what actually make me have butterflies in my stomach. When I finally pass through the elevation I feel relieve and my next battle was in the highway.
Now, are you curious what is my husband's overall rating for my first actual driving? Pretty good for a beginner like me!!! Fair enough I guess. At least I didn't receive a shout or a yell of B-R-E-A-K or S-T-O-P!!!! LOL

First Time I Cross the US Street

When I was in the Philippines, crossing busy street like running across the street when the light is about to turn green is one of the things that I am good at. LOL. I still remember how my officemate-bestfriend of mine got so scared when she saw me crossing the street at the very last minute and there was a speeding car that was approaching.

However, when I reached here in the US the set-up changed. What I mean is, I never got the chance to cross streets anymore. There are convenience stores outside our place but my husband doesn't allow me to cross the street just to buy something if he is not around. But guess what, today, I finally crossed the street for the first time since I arrived here in the US on May of last year. Today, my husband has a meeting with some corporate people so he wasn't able to pick me up after my shift. He told me to just go to the mall across the hotel and watch movie or shop. Honestly, I was a bit scared when I crossed the street. I hate to think that the thing I used to do becomes totally stranger to me.

Well, the speed limit in that street is only 20-30mph so cars aren't moving very fast. When I reached the side of the road I simply STOP, LOOK and LISTEN and run as fast as I can to the other side of the road. There you go friend, I made it. Kudos to me!

Back in the Wheel

I am back now. I was so busy yesterday that's why I haven't written even a single entry here. My husband is off every weekend and that gives me less time or no time at all in front of the computer because we usually go out before I go to work.

Another thing that kept me busy yesterday was practice driving. As what I mentioned in my previous posts, there is a need for me to drive so it will be easier for me and my husband to move around. We are also more concerned nowadays because there is a possibility that he will be traveling again so he will not be around to bring me and get me from work. My mom-in-law can do it for him but I know she is also busy with her work.

Well, yesterday's driving session went smoothly. No BREAAKKK or STOOPPPP yell from hubby like I used to get because I am either going to the post or the curb. I got a very nice compliment from my husband. It has been almost 3 months since the last time I put my hands in the wheel but I and even my husband were surprised yesterday that I drove really good.

Before I was really nervous every time I am in the wheel but yesterday I wasn't, I was even excited. I guess, if you really want to make something happen, you will become more courageous. Next week I will take the written test and after that my husband will allow me to drive in the highway especially going to my work and then to the freeway but of course he will be with me.

Cold Morning

It is another very cold morning here in Texas today. We are below freezing point to mid-30's right now. No sign of Mr. Sun yet in the sky. Plus it is a windy again outside which makes the temperature even colder than what is supposed to be. Fog is a bit heavy as well that's why weather stations warned the Texas constituents last night to set their alarm clock way earlier than the time they usually woke up to avoid being caught up in heavy traffic which will be worsen because of the foggy environment.

Weather is really weird here over Texas because two weeks ago we were on 74F for two days and after that we went down somewhere below freezing point to 40's. Personally, I hate this very cold weather because as what I mentioned earlier it makes me lazier to get up from bed. Even if our heat is on, still I can feel the cold. Grrrr...

I Thought We Will Have Snow

I thought I would already experience my first snow in the US. Likewise, I can make my first snowman as well. LOL. However, it was only a false alarm. The snow flurries just melted when it touches the ground. It was only a small snow flurries and it didn't last for that long. It was like a on and off snow flurries shower.

I guess I would just wait for tomorrow and the next few days because base on the weather forecast we are going to have a pretty cold weather such that will reach below freezing point. Well, I don't really want snow all the time because it will make me more lazy to wake up early to do my blogging and to go outside the house so I can go to work. Right now, snow flurries shower in our neighboring cities are going on. We just had ours stop.

I Need to Recharge!

Just got home few minutes ago from another very tiring day at work. Goosh! Working in the Frontdesk is really tiring especially in season like this when hotels are either fully-booked or over booked because there are only less chances that you can go to the back office and sit down.

Honestly, I am not used to a job that requires long hours of standing because my work in the Philippines is not like that. Well, the good thing is, you won't really get bored because there's a lot of people that you will meet across the globe anytime. You will really learn a lot too. It's like you do a receptionist job, a reservation specialists, a customer servince agent or manager on duty especially that I am working in the second shift where there's no manager around although you can call them if necessity arises.

Right now, I am still looking around for a good company or place to work where it will not required me to stand long hours. Goodluck to me! LOL

Who Made the Call?

I was so surprised when I received a call from a 911 dispatcher asking me what's going on because she received an unanswered call from the hotel. I put her on hold and quickly asked my manager if there's someone who made a call. We were able to trace the room number where the phone call originated. However, the most interesting and intriguing question is, who made the whole when there's no one who occupied the room.

Actually, the people who are in the room that time was our GM and one employee from the housekeeping. The room is being cleaned at that time in preparation for a guest who checked-in tonight. A few minutes after I received the 911 call, two police officers appear in the frontdesk. They told me they responded to the 911 call made from our hotel. We explained to them anything but they still decided to go ahead and check the room. When they are back in the frontdesk, they said they see nothing room in the room. Hmmmm.... We'll no one knows who made the call!

Lazy Chick

I have another short vacation this week. Actually, it is my off from work today and I used almost all of my time today sleeping. I don't know why I was so lazy today, I just feel so tired that I even ate my breakfast and lunch at around 2:00PM already. I really can't believe it but it's true. Moreover, I wasn't able to clean the house because I really don't feel like getting up from bed. I only did few hopping with the blogs in my list for the same reason...LAZINESS... But don't worry guys, tomorrow is still my off and I will make it sure that I can visit everyone by then. Right now, I will sign off from my blog to watch another movie. See you all tomorrow... Thank you for dropping by!

Back To Work Tomorrow

My three-day off will now officially end and I will be back to work tomorrow. It's time for tele-bye-bye.... hehehe...Well, I don't have regrets because I was able to use my break accordingly base on my plan. The downside I guess of having a long break is you will become tired or for me a little bit lazy in going back to work. Well, I will just wait for the next week off and I will just think of the payday so I will be reinforced... Now, I am signing off from my blog because my eyes are already tired and sleepy. It's already dawn and I need to get some rest. See you tomorrow everyone....

Three-Day Off

Today is the first day of my three-day off from work this week. Yahoooo! I am really waiting for this three-day break because I missed so much my freedom of just staying at home. We were given an extra day off because it is Christmas week. Cool, huh?

Since my hubby will not be off until Saturday so my plan is just to stay at home the whole day, review the driver's manual so that I can take the written test next week and after hubby's work I will let him drive me to some places like mall or Asian store nearby. I want to go to the Asian store which is 5 mins. drive from us to buy "bihon" so that I will be able to make "bihon" that I want to eat since weekend. I already have all the ingredients other than the "bihon".

My three-day off also means more time for blogging. I know I already miss a lot in my blogging stuff and with my fellow bloggers that's why there's a need for me to catch up with things. So, see you more guys in the next two days.

That Was So Sweet of Him

Supposed to be I had to work yesterday from 3-11PM but since we were slow with only a couple of arrivals, our manager decided that there is one of us that can go home early. Since my colleague is not yet married, he voluntered to remain in the post until our shift ends so that I will have the chance to go ahead and be with my family on Christmas dinner. I was really touched with what he did. I went home around 7PM which is 4 hours earlier than the usual end of my shift. Although, I wasn't able to make it to my husband's family Christmas party but at least we were together last night.

Last Hour Shoppers

Yesterday was my off from work and still I wasn't able to just stay in the house and rest because we did our last hours Christmas shopping. The malls wer very crowded and the traffic was terrible even if it was Saturday. I really thought there were only few people who don't finish shopping for Christmas but with what I saw yesterday, I would say there are still a bunch out there. Today, I am pretty sure that the malls are again full-packed with last minute shoppers. Hubby wrapped the gifts when we reached home. Right now, we already have the gifts under our Christmas tree just waiting for the Christmas eve. hehehe..

I Just Wish...

Because my husband was off from work since Thursday, I really didn't have much time to sit in front of the computer. We went to a couple of places to take care some stuff. Well, there are times that I managed to sneak online for few minutes but wasn't enough to wait for PPP opportunities. Tonight, I was again late for the big opportunities because I thought it won't be release until early in the morning. I saw the $50 opportunity but it was fully reserved already. Right now, I am still up waiting for this 25 bucks to turn green, hopefully, it will. Actually, I was already in bed but I just sneak to check if there were new opportunities available and that's when I knew that there were a number of them. So, I asked my husband if it's okay that I will get up and do one opportunity that I managed to reserve. He said okay that's why here I am writing this entry.

So Happy Together

My husband and I attended a Christmas party last night organized by some Filipinos in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Actually, I didn't knew about this party if not for my Filipina friend who is here for 7 years already. She's been a member of this association and she was the one who invited us to come over. We had so much fun in the party and the venue was full-packed with Filipinas together with their families. The party was held in a clubhouse in one of the neighborhoods in Southlake, Texas. There were a lot of Filipino foods in the party and of course the roast pig (lechon) was never out in the table. hehehe... I met a lot of wonderful Bisaya and of course Cebuano/Cebuana people in the party. Most of all, my husband and I had a fantastic time with them. Oh, my husband loves the roast pig (lechon). hehehe

By the way, here are some pics from the party.

Rainy and Foggy

Finally, I got the chance to sit in front of the computer today. I was out the whole day with my husband looking for gifts for the family exchange gifts this Christmas. My husband is still off today and he will not be back until Monday so we grabbed the opportunity to look around. Moreover, we also drive for 2 hours down south to visit a family member and I am so thankful that we were home safe despite of the bad weather. On our way back, it was raining so hard and very foggy that we can't barely see anything around. It even came to a point that I told my husband to pull over because we can't see the lines of each lane. However, he decided to continue driving but only at 20-25 mph. To make sure he is in the right lane, he just followed the car infront of us. I told my husband that if I was the one driving I have pull over already or stop somewhere then I will call him to pick me up. He laughed on me and said, "I am pretty sure you will find it difficult to drive in a bad weather like this because I can't barely see the lines of each lane.

Silly Man

Good morning everyone! I am a little bit late here in my blog because we went grocery shopping early. This morning, I was a little bit surprised when I woke up because my husband was still in bed even if it's already 9:00AM. Supposed to be he goes to work at 8:00AM. I asked him why he is not at work yet. He told me that he quit with his job because I will be working already. Whew! I was a bit shocked because my earning will not be even half of his. I told myself, are you kidding me? I never knew my husband is that stupid to do it. So, I calm down and I asked him WHY in a loud voice and that's then he was laughing at me. I was about to get pissed off because I did sense that he is only messing around with me. To make the story short, my husband use some of his remaining vacation from work that's why he is not working today. Oh my, I was relieved after I knew it. Well, who will not be?
