Wonderful Meeting

I was off yesterday. I was supposed to stay here with my blogs but in the last minute I got an invitation from my dear friend Jo to come over to her house because her new friend, Madel<>

Anyway, since our new friend is living 5 minutes away from the airport where hubby works, she told me to just let my husband drop me off there and I will just have a ride with them going to Jo's house. Hubby was a little hesitant at first because I haven't met them yet. So instead of just dropping me off at the Krogers and he could just go directly to work, he decided to stay with me and wait until they arrive.

They were such a beautiful and young couple. Hubby feels comfortable and at ease wit them on that first, quick meeting. Madel's husband is the one driving us to Jo's house; leave us there and he also went to work. He then picked us there at around 6:00PM and I had a ride with them and they drop me off at the nearest Wendy's in there place where hubby waited for me.

It was a very beautiful day and we are all so happy to meet each other. We blend right away so we are expected for more days of bonding and get together.

Third Time Attending Fil-Am Gathering

Last Saturday was our (hubby and I) third time of attending Fil-Am gathering of some couples from the neighboring cities. Acutally, I didn't know about the gathering; I just got a call from a dear friend, Ate Fe, and was told that there is an upcoming birthday gathering in one of the Fil-Am couples's house in Arlington. So we went there and we had a great time. Even if it was only the third time I met them they were very warm and we're welcome there. They even invited us for an upcoming camping in the East Texas which hubby and I thought of going. We also receive an invitation to a baby shower on May 3.

Here are some pics of that birthday gathering.

She is One Sweet Fella

One of my co-workers who is half Filipino, half Puerto Rican is one of a kind-woman. She is very sweet and thoughtful such that she will never miss giving us something during special holidays or occasion. She used to live in Hawaii and her relatives and families are there. One time her daughter-in-law sent her freshly dried fish and guess what she gave me six very yummy, freshly dried fish. Hubby even likes it; yes, he ate some of them. It was a big fish and if I am not mistaken we call it "galunggong" or mackerel (I guess) in the USA. She is like a mother to all of us there. She has been in the company for more than four years.

Anyway, on Easter Day she never misses again. She gave us all something. For the Guest Service Agents/Shuttle Drivers, she gave us candies (flower shapes); she gave the housekeeping people a basket of chocolates (chocolates look like eggs) and some stuff and notes for the management.

Here's what she gave to me:

Who Are Your Ocean's 11?

Sheila is tagging me with this. I have a good time doing this Shei. Just want to let you know. Thank you for the thought of remembering me.

RULE:
Name 11 people you can think of right off the top of your head. Don't read the questions underneath until you write the names of all 11 people. This is a lot funnier if you actually randomly list the names first. No cheating.

Let's start...

1. My Dear Banana
2. Mama
3. NiƱo
4. Maisha
5. Brycen
6. Eric
7. Craig
8.Mom
9. Joe
10. Steven
11. Larry

Now it's time to answer the following questions:

1.HOW DID YOU MEET #4? We have been talking over YM sometimes when I was in the Philippines. However, I met her in person when I get here. She is actually my sister-in-law.

2.WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITHOUT # 6? Nothing. It would not affect me in anyway. P-E-A-C-E

3.WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF #2 AND # 6 WERE GOING OUT? I don't think that instance comes as they don't know each other.

4.WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF #5 CONFESSED HE/SHE LOVES YOU? He always does. He is my cuties step-son and he always say I love you Tita. (Tita is what I want him to call me.)

5.WHO'S #10'S BEST FRIEND? I am not sure but I think he has a lot.

6.HAVE YOU EVER EATEN AROUND #1? Definitely! Well, except if we are both or one of us is at work.
7.DO YOU MISS #2? Very Much! I love my Mama so much and I haven't seen her for almost a year now.

8.WHO IS #11 DATING? His wife and his kids.

9.WHAT DO YOU THINK OF #3? He is a new person now because of his newly born brother. He is my once upon a time very "kulet" nephew.

10.WHAT DO YOU THINK OF #9? She is my bestfriend and my sister here in the US. My buddy. I love her like a sister.

11.WHAT WOULD U DO IF #4 AND #7 WERE DATING? They always do that! Actually, we always date with the whole family. They are sibblings and they are my sister and brother-in-laws.

12.WOULD YOU MARRY #8?What? I marry her when I married her son. She is my beloved mom-in-law.

13.DO YOU LOVE #11? Yes, I do even if he is too "pasaway" sometimes even if he is married already. "Pasaway" in the sense na always depending on me. He is my one and only brother, my only sibbling.

14.EVER SLEPT IN THE SAME ROOM AS ANY OF THE NUMBERS?# 1 we are boardmate, bedmate, etc. Name all the word that ends in mate and we are like that..LOL # 5 yup, when he is with us, when I let him take a nap #7 nope...#11 yes, when we were young and when we were in college.

Post Valentine's Day Party

Since I attended the Vis-AM Christmas party last December, I already received a lot of invitations to come over for a Pinay gathering but since my schedule at work was crazy so I decline with the invitations. I feel bad though because they always call in the house and my answer is either NO my schedule doesn't fit or next time.

Few days ago, a dear friend of mine (Ate Fe) called me and informed me about an upcoming Fil-Am post Valentines party. She asked me to come over even if for that night only. So we did attend the party last night. I also invited my close friend, Joe, to the party since she said she misses roast pig "lechon baboy" so much. She is pregnant and she craves for it.

As expected, there were a lot of Filipino foods including the "lechon baboy" of course. The party was a blast! We enjoyed it so much. I am looking to attend more parties soon as long as my work schedule will fit. When I am driving it will be easier.

Here are some of last night's pictures.

Reminiscing

Our past molds us into a person we are at present. I do agree there are sad memories in the past that we want to bury forever if we can because remembering them reborn the pain we felt at the time it happened. However, we are all aware that it is impossible.

Friends, just like you I have been into sad and painful moments in my life. For my 24 years existence on earth, there is one thing I realize in our life’s journey, you can’t just exclude or take away any chapter in your life, good or bad, because if you do it will not be the real you; you are making another persona in yourself.

Part of my past memories that I will always remember is the time I spent with my co-workers back in my work in Cebu. We are like brother and sisters that’s why I felt so sad when I tender my resignation. I felt guilty and sad to leave them.

Lit, Emylou and Me

Among them, Emylou is like a big sister to me. We find the sisterly feeling for each other. We both have no sisters. We came to the company at the same time and she was with me all the way during my first heartbreak. I cried with her and I told her all the stuff even the very personal thing. I miss her so much. It’s a bit sad to think that I wasn’t there anymore when she got pregnant and eventually admitted to her parents that she had a secret marriage which I am one of the witnesses. She was 28 years old though which I think is just fine. She was in law school at that time plus she is the only daughter that’s why she decided to hide it for almost a year.

I Love Your Blog Awardee

I know Valentine's Day had passed already but LOVE should not only be celebrated on that day, it should be everyday. A very common example that shows spreading love on a day to day basis is in the blogosphere.

Most of us don't see each other yet in person but it never becomes a hindrance for all of us to established a wonderful friendship; sisterly relationship to some extent. Giving awards to fellow bloggers shows how we appreciate each of us here in the blogosphere.

My dear friend, Avee, is forwarding this beautiful heart-shaped appreciation for my blog. Sis, thank you much! I want you to know that I truly appreciate the thought that goes with it. Luv yah sis...

Now, I want to share my love to everyone in the blogosphere. Whoever would like to have this award, please feel free to grab it. Let me know so I can go and see your home. Thank you guys!

I Have Yet to Meet Them in Person... Visit Their Blog!

Yes, I never meet her yet nor her husband but it seems like we met somewhere in the past. I don't know if you believe in reincarnation but somehow that's what I feel for this wonderful couple, Dana & Debbie. I feel at ease and at home every time sis Debbie and I are talking over the phone or in the net.

Way back, I met Debbie online through WOF. We, together with our other online friend, agreed to do our St. Luke medical for our US visa together. I had a problem with my passport that time because of my DOST scholarship so I wasn't able to join them on the scheduled date.

We then flew here in the US without meeting each other in person. However, the bond of friendship or shall we say our "sisterly relationship" for each other grow more each day. She is very close to my heart, in fact, I considered her as my big sis since I don’t have a sister. If you remember in my previous post, I mentioned about a trip to Atlanta and she is actually my dear friend that I will visit there. Unfortunately, my work doesn't allow me to get a weekend off that's why I decided to just temporarily postpone the trip and move it some time during spring.

Few months ago, I encouraged my big sis Debbie to do paid blogging although I know she doesn't need to do it already. She was on the first trimester of her pregnancy at that time so she decided to do it the later. I understand though because first trimester is very sensitive and PC's radiation is not good for her and the baby.

A couple of days ago, she surprised me when she told me over the phone that she has made a blog. Actually, it is a joint effort of her and her husband! Well, it wasn't a big surprise to me because I already know that her husband is always there for her.

Anyway, if you guys have time, please drop by in Dana & Debbie’s blog, Fil-Am Journey. If you could, please add them in your blogroll. Thank you so much!

The Little Angel in My Friend's Life

I am so happy with my friend in Sacramento, CA because she finally gave birth to her baby girl in the last week of December 2007. Supposed to be her due date is January 6, 2008 but I guess the baby is just very excited to see the world and her parents that's why she's came out early. LOL. Just kidding here.

Way back, I met my friend in Cebu around September of 2005 when she enrolled in one of the short courses/programs offered by the institution where I worked and we eventually became good friends. We used to go to the malls together, eat somewhere or just hang out either in my apartment or in hers doing pedicure and manicure. She had a manicure/pedicure kit that's why we do it on our own if we aren't lazy.
She and her husband are very good people and I am just so happy for them for having their little Leona in their lives right now. They will have the baby' s christening next month and since I can't go there because of work, I am just going to send a present for the baby.
Here's baby Leona and my dear friend.

Bonding Time With My Pinay Friends

Two days ago, I went to my friend's house to pay her a visit and to attend the little birthday celebration for her father-in-law's 86th birthday that we (Jo, Rea & I) organized for him. Actually, his birthday will not be until the 16th of October but we opted to have it in advance.

Hubby and I made a chocolate cake for him and Rea brought a Filipino food called pancit bihon. We had some chicken barbeque and beef steak. We also had another Filipino foods called dried fish and "uyap" (uyap is a preserved small shrimps placed in a bottle container). It was indeed fun and the happiness that we gave to her father-in-law is pretty evident. He was even about to cry when we sang the happy birthday song. Everyone was so touched. I even shed tears because I was able to remember my parents back home.

Here are some of the pics although not complete because I was out of battery for my camera. Our friend Rea arrived already in the afternoon that's why she isn't in the pics.
